Allowing Devices to Use Direct Internet Access

WifiSocks provides a high-security feature by completely blocking Internet connectivity until a device is assigned a proxy. This ensures absolute anonymity and prevents the exposure of your real IP address and location.

To allow a device to access the Internet without using a proxy, please refer to the detailed instructions in this document.

1. Prerequisites

The device must not require a proxy, and there must be no risk associated with exposing its original IP address and actual location.

2. Instructions

1. Connect: Ensure the device is connected to the WifiSocks Router.

2. Locate the device:

   • Access the WifiSocks admin page. Navigate to the “Router Configuration” -> “Direct Internet Access” screen to find the device.

3. Status Color Coding:

   • Green: The device has been granted direct internet access.
   • Gray: The device has not been granted direct internet access.

4. Grant Permission: Click on the device you want to grant direct internet access to; its status should change to green.

5. Save: Scroll down and click “Update” to save the changes.

3. Troubleshooting

3.1. Loss of direct network access despite previous permission:

• Cause: You assigned a proxy to this device after granting direct access. This revokes the direct access permission because the WifiSocks Router always prioritizes the use of a proxy.
• Solution: After removing the proxy assigned to the device, you must re-grant the device direct network access.

3.2. Device changes are not saved after selection:

• Cause: The device may still have a proxy assigned to it, which prevents the direct access selection from being applied successfully.
• Solution: Recheck the device’s proxy settings. If a proxy is currently assigned, remove the proxy and then try again.
